CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S PERFORMANCE?

• Learning Disabilities (LD) can occur even in children with high intelligence.
When LD exists along with ADHD or ADD (see below), children have greater
difficulty in the classroom. The key is to work with strengths, not just addressing
weaknesses.
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) includes poor concentration,
impulsivity, disorganization (ADD), and often hyperactivity. ADHD is the most
widely diagnosed childhood disorder. Some think it is diagnosed too readily.
Correctly diagnosing ADHD means ruling out other problems. Busy professionals
often overlook this step.

MEDICATION?
Medication for disorders like ADHD can be helpful, but should be used only
after ruling out other treatments, and is most successful when used in combination

the necessity of medication and help you fully understand its implications.
